The concierge were able to secure us some of the most coveted reservations and experiences with such beautiful execution. The staff upon checking in was kind and hospitable even taking time to introduce us to a wonderful gentleman who had previously worked in our hometown. The room, the special touches, the details are second to none. Thank you to the hotel staff and Tatsuya for your kind note and special gestures - we cannot wait to return soon!”

“Gorgeous hotel with impeccable interior, emulating the traditional Japanese style using modern and materials of the highest quality. Its spacious and very luxurious rooms were conceived with attention to every little detail, and if you can get the one overlooking the river it is simply stunning. Service is extremely courteous, food is amazing - the Japanese breakfast is so amazing that I would cry if I missed it, Japanese dinner is fantastic, and there is an Italian restaurant/bar where you can listen to some jazz and piano in the evening. Spa is relaxing with a lengthy pool and saunas. It’s the most marvellous oasis in this beautiful city. I’ve been twice in a month and a half and I just can’t wait to be back again.”

Nicest hotel that we stayed at in Japan! It’s situated right beside the river so there is plenty of good walking trails in the immediate vicinity. Hotel location is great and it’s a short walk/cab to most attractions in Kyoto. The hotel is beautiful and has some top class restaurants. Rooms are spacious and the staff are extremely friendly. Everyone spoke English very well! Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Time stood still upon entering this property, an experience that is fascinating and fringing on fairy-tale like. Services were efficient and reliable; yet never rushed. Thankful for the opportunity of such an experience. A little glimpse of 'Heaven on Earth'

Amazing hotel, beautiful traditional Japanese design. Most important amazing staff. We stayed 4 nights and received a friendly and personal service. We would like to thank specially both Shoko Hayashi and Rie Shimomura for their help. You wont be disappointed.
