“We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and I regret the decision so much!! The only good thing about the hotel was the bedroom which was beautiful but everything else made our experience terrible and I really wish I would have stayed somewhere else. When we arrived we didn't even have a welcome note acknowledging that we had chosen their hotel for our honeymoon (not that I wanted red carpet treatment but at least a note would have been nice). The GEM even asked us when we checked in if we had our marriage certificate (I thought it was odd but said ok maybe many people pretend it's their honeymoon to get freebies or something) and I thought when we would come back to our room that night there would be a nice surprise from them, and nothing....The GEM is completely useless, I kept messaging him constantly asking him what activities there were to do etc and he not helpful, nor was any of the staff at the hotel. We were only there for 3 days of our honeymoon and I wanted to make the most of it and I kept having to chase them to tell me information (this is also a sale opportunity loss for them as they could have sold activities etc to us). The food is completely overpriced for regular food, we paid $60 for white rice and a terrible steak to give you an example. The worst part is that I did bring these things up to the management and they did nothing about it, the manager just came and talked to us but didn't offer anything to us to compensate the terrible experience we were having. The rest of our honeymoon we spent at the Four Seasons in Mahe and WOW! What a difference!! They made us feel beyond welcomed and the service was excellent. I wished I would have booked our whole honeymoon with them. Do not waste your time here, there are many other better places with better food and better service”
