The Barceló is a wonderful hotel! The facilities are beautiful and relaxing and the food is delicious. Customer service is exceptional and all of the staff took extra time to ensure our stay was perfect. 10/10 recommend! A special thank you to Carlos for taking time to explain things when we had any questions!

We had a wonderful experience. The staff are amazing and very friendly! Carlos and Anna make you feel very welcome. Emmanuel in the Mexican restaurant was awesome! Our server by the pool Aurora made sure we were well taken of. Will be back next year!

We have spent 4 days at this beautiful resort. The service is exceptional, the people are so hospitable and there are so many activities for both adults and children. The food is incredible and everything is so clean! I will be recommending everyone I know to come to Barceló for a wonderful vacation!

It was great! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because me and my family were constantly out doing activities! The shows they have every night are super awesome I give it up to the dancers! Super friendly staff as well very accommodating !

It was really accommodating the service was great super kind super patient overall great stay. The shows were absolutely beautiful and fun. The actives were also very exciting they had something planned for every hour so you were never bored. I had the chance yo talk to two of activities workers. Ignacio was an excellent host always asking how we were doing and if he could help us with anything. Overall great experience 10/10 recommend and would definitely come again. The rooms were comfortable although there were a few quirks but still very comfortable. The food was also so good.

What a great place. Very family friendly with kids. We loved having the kids play pool, everyone pool and the separate adult pool. My only recommendations are 1) give people wifi. This is the year 2000+ .... That should be standard. Not charged to people. Also 2) there should be another bar and another bathroom set located on the opposite side of the pool bar/restaurant. For kids to go to the washroom (and adults) it's a long was around!! **UPDATE Dec 2020 - we got free WiFi!! Updated original review to 5stars **

Super enjoying Barcelo. The staff is super helpful, safe and clean. I recommend a stay here if you have family with young kids. The beach is perfect and the pool is always well maintained. I love the friendly atmosphere here!

The location and place is amazing. Buffett is good but there's minimal drink selection. When it comes to guest service, it's definitely not good. I have a series of issues with them that they left unattended during my stay: 1. Our reception wasn't good at all. The staff was moody, they left us waiting in line for 30 minutes before our check in and when we finally hit the front desk the staff member left without telling us anything. 2. Unfortunately, they gave us room 201 which is in the lobby floor right next to the elevators. We got a lot of noise coming from the lobby since the hotel offers a night activity where they have live music from 7:00 pm til 12:00. We called front desk so they could lower the volume down and we got ignored during all of our stay. 3. I came here to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday and I approached the staff to made a reservation in one of the hotel restaurants for her birthday. My reservation was never there and I never got the cake I asked for my mom to the staff one day before. Good thing about this is that we went outside the hotel to eat in a place called Don Porfirio right next door. This is definitely a good place to eat outside the hotel. 4. Most of the kitchen staff is always in a bad mood. They don't greet you or even talk to you. 5. Beach activities were above expectations. This was my favorite part. They offer free kayaks, sailing and a volleyball. Service at the beach is really good. Other than that, the beach scenery and the quietness is worth it. There wasn't a lot of people during my stay and that made it ten times quieter.

Beautiful view, facility and grounds are well kept and this City of Huatulco is altogether clean. The beach is absolutely breath taking, you can walk around and enjoy the view. Great place for families, if you upgrade to the gold bracelet you get the best for your money, the gray bracelet doesn't cover a lot of imported liquors or beer in cans (only tap). The restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch has great food but as of Oct 2020, they seem to be understaffed therefore getting coffee or OJ is quite a task. You'd have to ask 2 to 3 times in order to get your drinks (after a few days we realized we had been ordering drinks from the people that were in charge of picking up dishes and cleaning the tables, not the actual waiters, once we figured that out we had no further issues with the service...My bad). The Agave and Italian Restaurants (can't remember the name) require a reservation but it is absolutely worth it as both places have outstanding food and service. The entertainment team does all kinds of fun pool activities, I liked that they offer a sail boat ride too, it was a great experience! And last but not least the front desk staff was very professional, accommodating and friendly.

Nice place. Just be aware of this dude, he is a con artist. Looks like a nice sweet guy, but then your bank cards will magically be missing.. hopefully the hotel does the right thing and fires him and blocks employment in the area..
