“This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. When you step out of the hotel there is quick access to many types of water transportation, and you're just a minute walk from Saint Mark's square. I can't wait to stay here again. One thing that bothered me was the poor lighting in the room. Although there were multiple lights throughout the room the brightness was fair at best. The concierge wouldn't acknowledge me unless I interrupted him. Just speak up or you don't exist.”

“If you are looking for old world charm and quality, look no further. I am a world traveler and love hotels like this that blend old with the new. Like all of Venice, travelers with mobility issues may find getting around this property a challenge. I read with interest some "poor" reviews and found most of them unfounded. Eating at the hotel is expensive, but so is every other quality hotel in Europe. Step around the corner and well-priced quality eating abounds. If you are seeking a brand spanking new cookie-cutter hotel as one finds in the US, I recommend you do not come to Venice to begin with. This hotel exceeded our expectations for charm, character and quality. Attention to detail is a hallmark here. The staff was pleasant, helpful and charming in every way.”
