The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The outside is up kept and the lobby was beautiful. I felt that the room was very average for an almost 4.5 star hotel. The beds were awful and the walls were all chipping. No refrigerator or microwave in the room.

Easy parking, helpful staff, nice room. For some reason, electricals were unplugged, including the TV. Had to fish the power strip from behind the TV stand and stretch the cord to the outlet on the window side wall to connect.

Well located and nice view from the rooms over the city. But clearly need an update, furniture is chipped, mattress are average. For a 4-stars hotel I would expect something more well kept. Desk service was good and staff very attentive and personal.

Great hotel, good views of the city. It's not very close to restaurants so you will have to walk, and those hills are a workout! Overall, enjoyed my stay.

The old 1920s charm. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The air didnt get cold and the windows would barely open. Also I was a nightmare walking up the hill to the hotel.

As stunning as its history. The service is second to none. There was a problem with a delivery driver and the manager and all the valet staff were on top of it. Beautiful hotel, very romantic and the perfect city getaway. Spend a few minutes going through the little history museum off the lobby.

Very welcoming, attentive and friendly staff. Lovely, classic, immaculately presented rooms with a touch of elegance. In my view the best location to stay in San Francisco, you’ve got everything you need nearby and the views (as it’s on top of the hill) from the hotel of the city are truly stunning! It will take you about 20-25 minutes to walk to the main bay tourist area, but you wouldn’t want to stay too much closer as it’s constantly congested. If you’re looking for a luxury 5 star hotel in the heart San Francisco for a base to explore the sites….then this is where you want to stay. You can walk everywhere from this hotel to all the main attractions.

Step back in time! This hotel is charming and the staff offered great customer service. We had a corner suite in the 15th floor with a great view of the city! The room was very clean and offered nice amenities. The bed was top notch and the pillows were seriously some of the best ever!! Sheets were so soft and cozy. The bathroom was large, had everything you would need and had a jacuzzi tub. The towels were plush and soft. The Top of the Mark bar had a great view and the perfect place to relax and have a drink. They do serve food, but stop serving food at 10pm so plan accordingly. We were hungry and went back to the room and ordered room service since we stopped by after 10pm. The room service was quick, food was the right temperature and a shout out as the pizza was really good. Overall a great hotel and highly recommend, but some updating would be nice to give it a fresh look.

Loved seeing the history and looking at the items in the hotel from years past. The view and location could not have been better. The staff was so sweet and helpful!!

Loved the view and the Top of the Hub. The staff is always so friendly! This is hard to fix, but the elevators were very small and limited. It was fine during non-peak times, but when the Top of the Hub was about to open, there were lines to get on the elevator, even though we were just trying to get to our room.

Location. When I ordered room service I had the most delightful person on the phone who took care of us. I really appreciated this person. I had gone in person to place our next day reservation for brunch at the Top of the Mark. When we arrived for brunch at 10 am our reservation had not been placed. I was disappointed, but grateful they were still able to accommodate us.

Nothing. In dire need of a renovation. Bathroom was dirty, what appeared to be mold on the bathroom caulk was disgusting- so much so that I wouldn't use the shower.
