Un buen hotel, ya tiene sus años, las instalaciones sobre todos sus restaurantes y personal se portan de primera, los alimentos son variados pero solo hay dos restaurantes de especialidades, cerveza o alcohol no te dan hasta después de las 12:00, la cama qué me toco es muy vieja y deberían de cuidar esos aspectos, los cuartos tienen lo necesario y continúan en buen estado, la playa bien, obligatorio uso de cubre bocas en los restaurantes, bufet continúa igual, puedes servirte tu mismo lo que desees, el show de entretenimiento muy básico, los elevadores muy mal, en ocasiones solo funcionan dos y pierdes mucho tiempo esperando a subir o bajar

El servicio de comidas es excelente el problema es cuando se satura por la cantidad de huéspedes pero en cuestión al sabor esta perfecto, lo que les falla tal vez sean sus elevadores,se sienten viejos,sin mencionar que en ciertos pisos se atoran las puertas,en mi habitación estaba dañada la llave para la regadera pero solo eso fue lo único malo de mi habitación

En general el hotel me gustó mucho, la habitación siempre estuvo limpia, la comida muy rica (el restaurante asiático no tiene mucho en especial), las albercas se mantenían limpias, en general todo bien.Los detalles: Lo que si puedo decir que fue una mala experiencia (y otro usuario también comentó aquí) fue un problema con el agua, salia de un color amarillento y con un ligero olor a hierro, llamamos para reportarlo y la "solución" que nos dieron fue dejar la llave abierta hasta que saliera normal, funcionó pero eso no es una solución realmente en especial por el desperdicio de agua si todos los cuartos tienen ese problema. El otro detalle es el de los elevadores que también es culpa de nosotros como usuarios, el que la gente presione para subir los que van de bajada hace que el elevador de mil vueltas antes de llegar a tu piso y también te puede pasar que tardes en llegar a donde quieres una vez dentro, al final es mas conveniente usar las escaleras cuando hay mucha gente, finalmente como en la mayoría de los hoteles el personal deberia estar más atento con la gente que tira basura en la playa, es responsabilidad de todos mantenerlas limpias pero mientras exista gente inconsciente seria bueno el apoyo del personal del hotel.Sin embargo ni estadía fue mejor de lo que esperaba, sin duda volveré y lo recomiendo bastante.

Fue un fracaso total este hotel para empezar nos dieron los cuartos a las 4:45 d la tarde , no ahi maleteros , tienes q cargar tus maletas, los elevadores solo sirve en ratos uno solo , la comida del restaurante gaviotas super mala la comida , mi hijo s hospedóen el cuarto 1636 y en la madrugada le picaban las chinches exigió q lo cambiaran d cuarto mi hijo s le cayeron 20 pesos el primer día no los recogió y el segundo día 30 pesos s le cayeron y olvido recogerlos pero la d limpieza ella si los recoge y s los roba ,,en nuestro cuarto estaba tapado el baño , apagan el aire del cuarto , en los pasillos no ahi aire acondicionado, no ponen rollo en el baño ni jabón d manos, en fin porquería d hotel lastima d fama q tiene. ( Tenemos las fotos del colchón lleno d chinches,cuando vallan a ese hotel chequen el colchón)

Se pierde la calidad del servicio con tanta gente, no hay control de medidas COVID, aquí no existe el cuidado y prevención del COVID. El hotel en general no tiene nada especial o distintivo,se están deteriorando algo las instalaciones.Gracias por su respuesta, le puedo comentar lo siguiente:- En ningún momento recibí instrucciones de donde si y donde no podía usar cubrebocas.- Ningún mesero usa guantes y tocan los vasos,cubiertos y tazas.- No había alguna señal si las mesas estaban desinfectadas o no.- Entre varias veces al hotel y no me revisaron la temperatura.- Solo dos elevadores estaban en servicio, y se metían hasta 8 o 9 personas, sin ninguna restricción de sana distancia.- En el comedor, había filas para la entrada, filas para la comida y no había sana distancia.Esto es por nombrar lo poco que recuerdo.

Tengo una duda que espero me puedan atender, íbamos a ir y cancelamos un día antes por fuerza mayor, por obvio, ya estaba todo liquidado, la agencia que contratamos nos dijo que pues el hotel nos podía cambiar la fecha pero que nos iban a cobrar más, aceptamos, pero ahora nos está exigiendo LIQUIDAR lo extra, YA! aunque falten más de 4 meses para ir, que porque sino el hotel ya no nos va a regresar NADA, cuando pagamos más de 69mil. Que tal cierto es eso? O ya es cosa de la agencia? Alguien sabe? O el mismo hotel me podría brindar la información que necesito?

Excelente trato, muy buena comida y el ambiente siempre bueno, tiene todos los protocolos para la prevención del covid19, y mantienen limpio todo siempre. La única queja que puedo tener es que al parecer nos dieron alcohol adulterado, ya que todo el grupo que íbamos nos sentimos mal por la tarde, tal vez a alguien se le ocurrió meter una botella adulterada y nos tocó de esa, de ahí en fuera todo bien, gad no nos pasó nada, ya que nos movimos del área de la alberca que fue donde nos pasó y ya no regresamos a esa área. Tengan mucho cuidado en las bebidas alcohólicas.

Me encantó!! Los empleados en todos los departamentos te dan una atención excelente!! Excelente comida, excelente programa de diversión, buenos bares,excelentes restaurantes, buenas habitaciones,quizá con los muebles un poco no muy modernos pero comodos y en excelente estado, recomendado al 100% ! Sin duda regresaré, el mejor todo incluido que he visitado!!

Excelente, maravilloso muy buena atención y increíblesinstalaciones, la comida riquísima muy buena, muy buenas habitaciones muy cómodas la verdad les recomiendo el hotel RIU, tiene muy buenas actividades para disfrutar en familia, el grupo de animación y deportes tienen muy buenas actividades para divertirse y convivir con todos, son unos excelentes animadores ellos saben como robarte una ☺ en especial a las animadoras aVanesa Osorio, vanesa,Lady keni, y al animador Gerardo que se encargan de realizar los juegos de pin pon, dardos, vochíbolson excelentes personas, les doy las gracias al hotel Riu por la increíble estancia y la maravillosa comodidad que nos brindo todas sus instalaciones y a todo su personal que nos brindo un excelente confiabilidad y por avernos tratado tan bien , muchas gracias. El servicio de la dirección fue muy deficiente. El subdirector Salvador, de origen dominicano, el cual se hizo pasar por director abusando de su autoridad y cuyo nombre completo se negó a dar fue totalmente descortés y agresivo. En un día de mi estancia un niño casi se muere ahogado y los servicios de emergencia fueron totalmente inadecuados, no tenían el equipo requerido ni ambulancia de emergencia. Los elevadores tienen un algoritmo inservible, que se detienen aunque vayan llenos. Las albercas únicamente las limpian poniendo más cloro y cierran a las 7 pm. El oleaje del mar es muy fuerte. El precio es alto para la calidad y el servicio del hotel.

la verdad tuve un inconveniente que me hecho apresar el viaje. fui hecho menos por un gerente. pero no haré mi reseña de eso. mi calificación es baja por qué en verdad creo que debe ser así. es un hotel que en la publicidad se ve imponente y lo es hermosos en fotos. el edificio. muy bien cuidado y limpia. pero es una relación. amor odio. bello e impone te pero no como ni elegante. no hay aire acondicionado en el lobby ni en ningún pasillo así que prepara para pasar un mal rato en el calor no hay valet parking. y el estacionamiento es TA lejos así que caminatas cuadras en el calorón y de subida.. la comida no aporta nada es continental pero no es buena ni mala pasable . las bebidas y bares están plagados de alcohol corriente litera. si eres un adolescente amante del Zuko y los jugos de sobre adelante todas las bebidas son así limonada se esencia. narajandas y así nada rescatable. pero es un todo incluidos puedes tomar hasta ahogarte de alcohol corriente y barato. caminas muchísimo porque todo está lejos y no hay transportes ni nada interno se apoyo como en otros hoteles. por el lado bueno personal en su mayoria es muy servicial y atento. los servicos de entretenimiento y teatro son algo a tener en cuenta . los cuartos son algo elegantes hasta cierto punto ya que los colchones son horribles corrientisimos es como tratar de dormir sobre una pelota de yoga. puro resorte. hasta hoy los de emporioson los mejores que me han tocado. las albercas bellas en las fotos pero ya que estás en ellas notas que les faltan muchos azulejos y tiene. lama en vastante puntos muy venidas amenos. cuando reserve pensé es un precio considerable pero siendo un todos incluído les are un robo. comiendo y tomando. la verdad siento que el robado fui yo. ya veo porque casi no tiene turistas americanos ya que como dije solo es bello en fotos. y recomendable si eres una persona nueva en vacacionar que no conoce de buena comida. y solo quiere tomar a tope sin saber ni que toma. no apto para personas con criterio ni amor propio... de mi inconveniente con el gerente ni habrar..

El lugar esta mas o menosLa playa por lo genera esta picado y hay un rio dd aguas negras a un laditoEl personal es pesimo ! No hay pools bar ( en servicio) tienes que salirte de la alberca ir a pedir algo que obvio hay mucha fila, llegas y te dicen “que quieres” y preparan todo con vino de pesima calidad lo mejorsito es red label de alli para abajo, el clamato es pacific clam mix o algo asi ! Refrescos de la pepsi , en fin y si no traes cubrebocas no te dan nada , osea que pex sales de la alberca para tomar algo en la alberca !!!! Entiendo la pandemia pero saliste a pedir bebida y regresar a tomartelo en ese inter debes ponertr cubre bocas ! Por que no mejor si abren el pool bar !El personal es pesimo, mal encarado y nada servicialLos elevadores son un martirio hay 3 para 22 pisos !!! La logica es que te pares de 3 a 4 veces cada vez que subes y bajes y en veces esta lleno el elevador donde alli si la sana distancia y el cubre bocas no importa !!! Es donde mas debe importar y no en espacios abiertosLos restaurants de especialidad sobre abren viernes, sabados y domingos. No vengan entre semanaEl check in y check out es un congestionamiento !!!! Duras horas para hacer uno u otro ! Estas como a 20 min del centro y la pulmonia cobra 200 pesosLa comida es malita, los vasos de plastico huelen a rabo !Por la pandemia hacen medidas que solo los benefician a ellos y descuidan la atencion al cliente totalmenteSi lees esta reseña y una agencia te vende un paquete, no vengas ! Repito no vengas !!! Esta lleno de agencias y agencias y agencias ! Parece alberca publica ! No hay meseros tu te haces todoY el colmo hoy vinieron a hacer el aseo 3:45 pm y me dijo correle que ya salgo a las 4 le dije por que no veniste antes ? Dijo pues estoy OCUPADA, si quieres solo te dejo toallas y ya me voy, le dije no pasas y haces el aseo bien !Total , vienes aqui a que te den ordenes !🙏🏼no vengas aqui ! Hay mejores opciones . No conocia mazatlan pero te aseguro que habra mejores opciones

Buen Hotel, y buen lugar. Para por lo que cobran tienen poca calidad de comida,y también por ser Hotel RIU. Conozco RIU PALACE VALLARTA Y RIU PALACE LOS CABOS. Y nada que comparar, el servicio en Albercas no era grabable, y una cosa, no vayan con la intención de que ahí van a comer algún corte de calidad, tiene una que hacer reserva, y con la aplicación no se puede, entonces quise hacerlo en reservaciones a las 9:45am, y ya no había espacio. Ni modo. Y el mini bar no te lu surten. Estuve en el último rincón del Hotel nuevo, no hay elevador cerca, y las escaleras muy resbaladizas. Pero en fin, aún así lo disfruté, jaja

El hotel muy bonito, lástima de personal que tienen sobre todo los de seguridad, los que visten playera negra y los de recepción. El fin de semana estuve hospedada entre “” porque fuimos corridos del hotel.Al salir a disfrutar al malecón el personal de seguridad se puso a hacer pleito con un huésped, llegando hasta los golpes, lo peor de todo fue que salieron todos los de seguridad y se agarraron a golpes siendo que ellos están para apoyar al huésped y sobre todo calmarlos no para alborotar más el orden, se pusieron con las mujeres que intentaban sepáralos causándoles daños físicos a ellas también, el personal de hotel retiró los brazaletes y nos negaron la entrada, llamaron a la policia, y así fue como pudieron solamente, golpearon a huéspedes con un tipo de cadenas con tablas, causando bastante lesión física y hematomas muy notorios.Dentro del hotel corrían de las albercas a las 7, y en el cuarto jamás fue llenado el bar, el elevador se apagó por 3 minutos.PESIMOOOO HOTEL, no recomendado cambien el tipo de personal que en ves de calmar ocasionaron lesiones físicas, e insultos que quisieron humillar diciendo que habíamos pagado dos pesos y que nuestro dinero no valía nada!! Asco de personal, mal capacitado se inservibles🤷🏼‍♀️

Muy comodo en el nuevo complejo, su coolaborador Rafael del restaurante muy servicial y muy amable, de los mejores del hotel, ojo, si van a ir a solo criticar lo malo y los errores, mejor no se hospeden en este hotel, yo y mi familia lo disfrutamos como nunca, me hizo faltan una dia extra, como información, para visitar el malecon o los lugares mas concurridos de Mazatlán, el faro etc, afuera pasa un camion por 11 pesos por persona los lleva hasta el faro, lo mejor, tienen aire acondicionado, hay aurigas y taxis tipo pulmonias, segun su presupuesto es opcional cobran 400 la hora aproximadamente. Estando ahi en el malecon ya pueden disfrutar de las pulmonias originales, de las aurigas o los taxis tipo pulmonia, y lo mejor rentar los razer, hay desde 1200 la hora, en fin, hotel RIU está situado a varios km del malecon por estrategia comercial y a la ves por seguridad, que si estuviera a metros del malecon la verdad seria un caos total... Bien por eso. Todo bien. A p.d. Sino quieren batallar por los elevadores, pidan cuartos del nuevo complejo. Son solo 4 pisos. En fin, visitenlo pero ya.

Las Instalaciones están bonitas, pero hay personal que no le gusta trabajará aquí, ayer por ejemplo llegó un disque salvavidas a sacarnos sin educación de la alberca a las 8 PM que por qué ya la iban a limpiar, o después en uno de.sus bares nos apagaron la luz a las 11:30 por qué ya lo iban a cerrar y se llevaron las bebidas sin más, eso está de muy bajo nivel...Ha y me faltó comentar lo "Peor" ya que algo de su comida me hizo daño el 2do día por lo cual tuve un dolor muy fuerte de estómago, fui a recepción para que me atendiera el Médico y resulta que no tienen ni un solo Médico para los Miles de visitantes, es Increíble, y además me dijeron que le podían hablar a un externo pero que la consulta me costaría $1,200 pesos... La verdad nunca creo regresar y mis recomendaciones hacia ese hotel serán muy malas, hay muchos Hoteles bonitos a los lados, les recomiendo ampliamente buscar otro que no sea esté, saludos.

Ha mejorado mucho su servicio desde la última ves que los visité, pero aún es muy notable el trato malinchista que tienen los hoteles, donde se le da preferencia a los extranjeros. Reservas en la torre principal y te mandan a la área nueva hasta el rincón. Esta bonita, pero no tiene ninguna vista al mar, solo al jardín y ya, casi no hay variedad de bebidas para personas que no consumen alcohol, solo refresco y frape de piña o fresa, la comida está muy rica y ya hay un poco más de variedad, los meseros muy atentos y amables y la playa como siempre hermosa.

Muy buen lugar, los toboganes son excelentes y los salvavidas están al pendiente de todo, la comida muy buena, los meseros los encargados de la barra muy buena onda, un lugar para pasar unas buenas vacaciones, las albercas muy limpias y grandes, el área de niños está muy bien, y las habitaciones son hermosas, en especial las que tiene vista al mar, todo muy bien recomiendo al 100%

Muy buen servicio. Las habitaciones están muy cómodas y aunque la pantalla no es muy grande, los servicios que ofrece el hotel no te dejan estar mucho tiempo en el cuarto. Actividades en el exterior desde muy temprano y hasta la tarde en la alberca, playa y áreas de ejercicio en las que el personal dirige muy bien. Comida básicamente todo el día y personal dispuesto a ayudar durante todo el tiempo de la estancia. Todo muy bien.

Si conoces la calidad de servicio y comida de los Hoteles Riu este hotel nada tiene que ver con los demás. su servicio es horrible, la comida pésima, no hay ni el 50% de variedad que hay en otros hoteles, no hay servicio a la alberca, el espacio de camastros está sucio y desordenado.Las zonas de niños cierran a las 5 de la tarde, imagínense sacar a los chiquillos a esta hora de ya alberca.Las bebidas son de pésima calidad no son ni conocidas las marcas lo mejor que encuentras de ron es Bacardi blanco. El personal es explotado impresionante, están al 50% de la capacidad de personal y el hotel al 70% de capacidad de huéspedes imagen el servicio. Mazatlán es hermoso. El hotel Riu horrible.

Muy decepcionado, me quede por que me he quedado en varios Riu pero este es pésimo.. primero muy mala experiencia en la recepción, los elevadores no funcionan, el agua de las llaves color amarillo mostaza!! Y lo reportas y el director dice que es normal, que no se puede hacer nada!! Llevaba un bebé y se me enfermó del estómago por bañarlo ahí!!! La comida pésima y cierran antes de tiempo los restaurantes, la limpieza deficiente por falta de personal, la gente poco amable!! La peor experiencia en mi vida!! No volveré a esta cadena!!!

Hola,se que en el momento que sea leída mi opinión por el personal de este hotel su contestación sera la misma que le dan a todos los clientes:Estimado .....Gracias por escoger nuestro Hotel Riu Emerald Bay......Sentimos mucho leer que su reciente experiencia en nuestras instalaciones no fue como esperaba......bla, bla, bla, etc.Mi opinión no es para que el hotel me ofrezca una disculpa, sino para aquellas personas que tienen pensado visitar este hotel en un futuro consideren antes de reservar, respecto a este hotel le doy 2 estrellas, es aceptable pero en precio y calidad, deja mucho que desear, puedo decir que es el peor RIU de los que existen en México.DIA 1: Llegas y nadie te recibe,la persona en recepción que me entrego mi habitación, estuvo bien, muy amable; son pocos los ascensores para tantos pisos y tienes que esperar un montón, a parte son un horno, al llegar a mi habitación solicite el control de tv muchas veces y hasta después de mas de 24 horas se dignaron a entregarlo.DIA 2: En general estuvo bien el personal de las albercas y bares,personal de actividades recreativas bienDIA 3: Me encontré unas tarjetas de habitaciones, seguramente algún cliente se le perdieron, me acerque a recepción a entregarlas una de las mujeres que esta ahí me arrebato las tarjetas y dijo que de todas formas se las cobrarían al cliente que las extravió. (el personal de recepción es muy prepotente).DIA 4 (salida): Mal, solo había una persona para checar salidas, a parte no hay aire acondicionado en la recepción y es horrible.GENERALIDADES:Recepción vía telefonica:Mal servicio, te ignoran, prepotencia, no les importa el cliente.Bares:Atención del personal algunos bien otros mal, las bebidas son pésimas, por ejemplo pides un tequila y te sabe a agua mineral sin gas, pides un refresco y te sabe a agua mineral sin gas, pides un whisky y lo mismo, todo sabe a agua mineral sin gas ya que todas las bebidas están muy rebajadas con agua.Restaurantes (las gaviotas, tres islas y snack):La comida pésima, todo salado, no hay variedad, ni alimentos de calidad, en dos ocasiones nos hizo daño la comida, el personal de cocina y meseros muy bien , super amables y atentos, los restaurantes no son lo suficientemente grandes para la cantidad de gente hospedada.Restaurante (El malecón):Esta mucho mejor que el tres islas , lamentablemente no lo abren diario.Área de albercas y camastros:Bien.Habitaciones:Deterioradas, son muy obscuras, eso sin contar que algunos focos están fundidos, no todos los enchufes sirven, taza de baño rota, sabanas viejas, pisosmanchados, camas viejas, el agua para bañarte es color ámbar, no esta cristalina, hay mucho moho en varias partes del bañoShows:Aceptable, los artistas bien, ellos hacen su mayor esfuerzo para dar un buen show, lamentablemente el lugar donde se presentan, no tiene buena acústica y la iluminación es mala.Lo mejor:La atención de los meseros.Lo peor:Personal de recepción durante la estancia.OTROS:Es importante que sepas que el frigobar de tu habitación te lo surten cada tercer día lo que es cerveza y refrescos, y lo que es agua natural es a diario, pero ojo ya que algunas de nuestras botellas de agua el sello de garantía estaba violado, por lo que no las consumimos.Es importante que cuando te bañes tengas mucho cuidado ya que no son regaderas, son tinas y para entrar a ellas esta algo alto, y ademas muy resbalosas, no tienen tapete antiderrapante y puede ser muy peligroso en especial para personas mayores, niños, personas con discapacidad y mujeres embarazadas.Anteriormente en tu habitación te colocaban botellas de Ron, Tequila, etc, ahora ya no están, esto debido a la contingencia.Es importante que sepas, que este hotel no se encuentra cerca del malecón, por ello es importante que lleves automóvil o bien, afuera del hotel hay aurigas y pulmonías(vehículos de alquiler)pero estos te cobran un aprox de 400 a 500 pesos por llevarte.

Según mi experiencia en plena pandemia debes de tener muchísima paciencia. Llegamos a las 7 am y nos dijeron que podíamos ingresar hasta las 4 pm, más lo que tardaron en hacer todos los registros, terminamos ingresando a la habitación aprox a las 5 pm. Es tremendamente difícil mantener tu sana distancia, pues en la alberca, restaurantes y buffets, por lo general la gente se amontona. Valora entre tener una buena vista y tu paciencia , ya qué el hotel es muy alto necesitarás utilizar los elevadores frecuentemente y por lo general debes de esperar 10 min o más. Acostumbran a parar en casi todos los pisos. Si no eres como yo, preferiría una habitación en pisos bajos para moverme rápido y no tener que esperar tanto en un elevador lleno de gente. La comida no me impresionó y espere mucho más de los restaurantes, pues no eran a la carta si no tipo buffet. Esto es lo que me hubiera gustado tomar en cuenta antes de visitar este hotel. Las partes buenas creo que ya son prevesibles pues casi todos los hoteles de esta categoría los brindan. Un adicional es tomar en cuenta que estos hoteles ayudan a muchísima gente pues tienen muchos empleados, varios empleados estaban agradecidos por nuestra visita, gracias a esto ellos vuelven a reactivar su empleo. Excellent food and a large variety of it, there is no way you will spend a moment of hunger here. Good variety of alcohol to help wash down lunch and dinner as well. Multiple restaurants and food/drink stalls across the hotel will guarantee a full belly at all times. Lovely pools, plenty of lounging space near said pools for anyone who wants to get a tan. The hotel is right on a nice slice of Mazatlan beach, waves aren't too large and the sand is smooth. For anyone who has kids, there are a couple of larger water slides and a ball pit. Pretty cool I'd say.The Bad: Our check in process was less than great. We arrived around 12:00pm and received our bracelets at that hour, however, our room wasn't ready until 4:00 pm. Not being able to leave your bags in the room and lie down in an air conditioned room is not great, considering my family and I got up early that day and arrived at Mazatlan around 10:00am. Then, unfortunately, the first room we received (at 4:00pm) didn't have working AC, so we had to lug our bags to a different area, which was bad news for my grumpy father who wanted to sleep.I imagine COVID-19 was the reason less elevators were operating than usual. That was quite bad during busy hours when multiple people wanted to ride the elevator, sometimes waiting for around 10 or 12 minutes to go down or up. That was to avoid overcrowding an elevator.Also, the check out process was slow. Mind you it was a Wednesday and you'd think there would be less people checking out, but no. We probably waited around 30-40 minutes before being able to properly check out, so that wasn't good either. If one could receive a check out sheet you could fill out, turn in, then check out, you could probably speed this process up. Koo

Was there for a week and i have absolutely zero complaints.First the staff was absolutely amazing..super friendly people always willing to go the extra mile for you.The food was amazing..buffet style but the options were different almost every night.the local spa and gym had all the essentials. I cant wait to go back again

To start I want to say that this is going to be a long review. Because I genuinely want to outline my experience.OK so my check in process took about 1.5 hours. There was a slight language barrier, which is to be expected. So I was not upset about that at all. I basically was told at the front desk that the room I reserved was not in ocean view room. I was under the impression that it was. I was told that it is a bigger, more upgraded room that Icurrently had reserved. But the room faces the garden, none of them faced the beach. ( Which later after getting to my room I saw their def was,but that's here nor there.)So I asked to be shown both rooms, which they did.Upon initial look at the beach front room it looked fine, the décor did not look that outdated. I opted to go with the beach front room that was smaller. I was traveling alone, so I didn't need two beds.I got to my room and immediately disinfected all the hard surfaces.Upon doing so I noticed that the toilet seat cover with stained. I also noticed that the blue comforter that they used on the beds, do not look like they are washed after every guest.It was dusty and a did not look or smell clean. The sheets seemed fine, but I brought my own sheet with me to avoid having to lay one the resort's sheets. I didn't want to take any chances amidst the Coronavirus. The pillow cases on the other hand were not clean, I did notice stains on all 3 pillowcases. So I used the sheet I brought with me to cover the pillows.Of course next is taking a shower, which was a pain. The shower is very slippery, I fell in the shower several times. Thank God I did not actually hurt myself, since I was staying alone. That could have been very dangerous. After my shower I decided to go get something to eat. Dinner was very lackluster, I chalked it up to the fact that I had arrived on a Sunday. So I assumed that breakfast, lunch and dinner the following days would be better. I was wrong. Breakfast, lunch nor dinner one any day was better. Inate fries for lunch every day because they didn't have a lot of options, especially outside. Everyone got frozen unseasoned burgers with no cheese and hot dogs every day. But whatever the reason is, it is completely unacceptable to have the low number of choices as well as poor quality food options that I experienced. If I could compare it to anything it would be a Motel 6 version of an all inclusive resort on the beach.Even the restaurants where you need reservations (There are only 2 open right now), had lack luster poorly cooked/seasoned/prepared food. No customizations what so ever and a lot of "serve your self/buffet options".Now customer service wise, that's a different story. Everyone was really nice. Even though there were several things I requested be sent to my room over the course of my stay and none of them were delivered. I assumed that they are understaffed, due to covid.The worst meal I had was the night of my actual birthday, which was the whole reason I came to celebrate. I went to the Mexican restaurant, where I had a reservation. I was sat about 10 minutes after my arrival. I was not greeted or given water for an additional 10 minutes. Once my order was finally taken, I ordered the filet. My food came out about 20 minutes later, with the large parties food behind me as well. The steak that came out was not filet at all. It was also super thin, grey and over cooked. I know I ordered my steak well done, but that was under the impression that it was going to be a standard 3.5 to 4 oz filet.You can tell that my plate had set to wait for the parties food, because my riceand everything else on the plate was sooooo dry. I don't ever bother to mention these things to the serving staff only due to the language barrier. Sometimes it is rather hard to communicate, even with Google Translate. So I just decided to go eat dinner somewhere else.Most of the hotel where shut down, including most of the spa. There

I have been to Cancun as well before visiting Mazatlan. Compared to resorts there, this was not the same ball but if we were to compare it with resorts within Mazatlan, one of the best. Food was nice and various options. Old building with ocean view is not that great in terms of rooms and beddings but the new building is extremely well maintained but does not include full ocean view. We moved after few days to new building and was way better to manage elevators and go-to ocean or restaurants. Customer service is also good.

Wow. A great place to stay. Beautiful room, beautiful view of the ocean, excellent food! The only minor inconvenience was the elevators were slow, but, they are adding another one so that will help. The Tabasco Restaurant was just ok. The service was less than ok......we felt invisible to the server who was just having a great old time standing and joking with his coworkers. The buffets were outstanding, which made it hard to settle on an ala carte. Great service. You can’t go wrong here.

Generally speaking, it’s a Good resort. Staff are very friendly. It has 6 pools with different temperatures. Very nice spot for sunset pictures. Food variety and quality were good. The negative aspects of this resort are: Location of it is out of action area of the city. Bus stops at 8-0830 pm, make it hard to go anywhere after evening, unless you want to pay big price for taxi. Making the situation worse, all pools are closed at 6 pm “for safety reasons “. What a waste of their nice facilities! Gym is a poorly equipped gym. Again the gym is closed at 7pm! If you do not like their shows or drinking all night, not much activity choices are available after 6 pm. In other words, boring at evenings!

Pepe's food by the pools has the best tacos! And I tried cactus! Strange but good.The new buffet by the addition to the hotel had awesome food! The staff are very attentive and friendly, I love the cleanliness and service overall.In the buffets I recommend the guac, tostadas, omelettes in the morning and for sure the carving station! So many yums! Alaonif you like iguanas they visit you by the pool.The people by the beach selling stuff was not so bad, and if you need your hair braided ask for Valerie!

We have really enjoyed our visits to any Riu.We were at Emerald Bay 5 years ago and they have done some major expansio since.They added a whole new villa in addition to the tower, added a water park and a big Riuland area with spray park (water never seems to be turned on) and play ground area.They have additional pools 18+ areas and more.The food has always been great.I think the Riu Baja California and Riu Vallarta food has been better.They accommodate Gluten Free really well.

Large hotel .... they handle guests very well. Buffets are average except they ramp it up for supper. Lots of deck chairs. Seven pools and great beach. Service is very good. Only disappointed that it took 4.5 hours for my room to be ready and was there for 22 days, never got an opportunity to go to specialty restaurants because of the way they book. Need to allow reservations next day...and so on

Beautiful beach, but rough waters with strong under current.Food was okay. Beds had mold on them. Eventually moved to new room in newer area, with view of parking lot with car alarms going off every night.That was all okay though. What wasnt okay was the treatment by management, handling complaints and servers openly criticizing guests in Spanish.Every resort I have ever been to in Mexico and its been many, have always been welcoming, kind and staff being the favorite part of my visit. NOT this place. I felt unwelcome and condescended to. It did not feel like the Mexico I know and love.

It was a disappointing trip we had to change our room 3 times the first was above the night club this after we had requested a quiet room. The second room did not have a working TV and some of the outlets were burned and unusable.the handles in the shower in the second room fell off when I went to balance myself fortunately I did not fall.I would not recommend the Riu Emerald Bay to no friend or family. I could get into more detail the food etc but I won’t.

Pros:The staff was amazing super friendly and accommodating Daniela at the front desk went above and beyond.Food was amazing many different types and delicious.The access to the ocean can't be beat.Cons:Not sure if it was them or Sunwing but check in was so messed up. No proper lines set up so people just kind of swamped the desks, and it took nearly all day for my room to be ready. If my mother in law didn't have a separate room I don't know what I would have done with my infant.I tipped the housekeeping to make sure I had my fridge full of bottled water, since they aren't in the clean potable water zone. I wished I got the name of the gentleman who kept coming up to refill our fridge when I called down.

Wanted to post a experience we just had on our vacation to Riu Mazatlan, several events occurred while we were there. First we attended a wedding, while in the reception the groom had brought bottles of wine for the toast. The bottles were stolen by staff and later that night were being sold to guest of the hotel. We found out because they were offered to the grooms uncle.Second and biggest incident, on our last day there while we were all as a family in the pool, staff went into our room and opened our safe, took all our cash over $1400 usd. When we went to reception to file a claim not much was done. We asked for records of who was in the rooms and we were told the hotel does not have any cameras. We asked for records of when the safe was opened. Not only did they try and not provide the record but when they finally did the documents were tampered with. They did nothing and literally told us they couldnt do anything about it even with the evidence that was in front of them. It was a horrible experience and would like to inform anyone if you are traveling to Riu to be very careful. I for myself will never be staying in a Riu again.

This hotel was amazing! Beautiful views, never ever have to reserve beach chairs as there are plenty! Staff is wonderful, tip them well! I wouldn’t give the food a 5 star, however there were still lots of options and ate well . The Mexican al a carte tobasco restaurant was excellent ! Would definitely recommend this hotel for couples and families

The transportation from the airport to the resort was chaos. I had to be separated from my husband because they didnt have enough room on the busses, and i had to wait for another bus. The rooms were not ready when we finally got to the resort, the buffet and restaurants on the resort were only open certain days of the week... which i found odd. The evening entertainment was sub par, and the elevators..... The elevators were the worst part of the vacation. The resort is 22 stories and you have to wait 25 mins for the elevator to come to your floor. Ridiculous IMO.

Great hotel for kids. New water park. Clean, friendly staff, good food. Nice location. Bit far from town but some quiet and good restaurants nearby. Only complaint is when hotel is full there are alot of people and can get crowded at certain times. I'm not a fan of crowds. There are places to go to escape the crowds. Price was good. Would return and recommend. We went in January maybe I would pick another month to avoid the crowds.

The nicest all inclusive by far. Very good facilities and the new part with heated pools and waterslides is great, lots to eat and drink. Entertainment and huge kids club. Great staff and very, very clean BUT the elevators can be a pain. I have stayed there three times in the last two years and always there is one or two elevators out of service. Since they only have eight elevators and two are out of service they are down 25%. Can be very frustrating at times especially after a show when a thousand people are trying to get up to their rooms.

At this price, the overall service is good and tips not need too much compare previous hotels that we lived.The disadvantage is that the elevator needs to wait for a long line and only 2special restaurants and need make appointment at 7 am and 7restaurants all buffet only.When you take food it feels like boxing day.You get what you pay for.

Riu is our first family all inclusive holiday.Firstly, we stayed in the new building which is very clean.The rooms in this new area is great.The family suite allowed for lots of space for the kids and for us.It was clean.And the beds are very good - medium supported beds.The restaurants were terrible tho.The Asian restaurant serves food that is not close to what I’ve experience as Chinese food - I’m Chinese so I know.However the breakfast is abundant and good. One really bad thing is the fire alarm.We had the fire alarms go off in the middle of night three nights of our seven night stay.The alarm definitely startled our kids.That was the worst part of this holiday,but I’m sure that’s not necessarily the fault of the hotel.For a resort, it was perfect for our family except some hiccups

Over Christmas break, my family and I visited the Riu resort in Mazatlan with some friends. The overall stay was not horrible, but also not amazing.Food:HUGE selection all three meals, but it was not very fresh or tasty.The soup was good, meat was always bland and over cooked. The dishes were clean, but the cutlery was a little spotty...Bedroom:Our room was clean and our maid did a decent job. Only thing is the room is very bare bones. No housecoat or slippers... our sheets were only cleaned once on the last day during our 7 day stay. Also, the water was never automatically restocked. I had to call down to front desk and ask for water. It took a long time for them to get to your room.Staff:The staff were kind, friendly and fairly attentive. When it was busy at the bars, the quality of the drinks definitely went down. About 50% of the staff speak communicable English.Pool and beach:Beach was very clean and enjoyable to swim in. There were lots of pools and they seemed to be clean.The lounge chairs were often slightly dirty and sunken in.

Absolutely not ONE complaint!We had fabulous service upon arrival and got a room on the ground floor of the new building so my husband, with his two new knees didn’t need to do too many stairs!Our room was right beside the walkway to the beach and was really lovely!The wonderful staff, Victor, Pedro, Hesau, Eduardo, Leo, and the wonderful young man mixing drinks near the snack bar(best Paralyzers on the resort!), all were amazing and treated us with a smile! Dago at the front desk was extraordinarily helpful with an issue involving a young woman requiring assistance.He and his staff were so very friendly and shared our concerns!I WILL be back #RiuEmeraldBay!!

We got robbed at this hotel! And we're not the first ones! As soon as we noticed somebody had come into our room we went to the front desk to place a complaint...It wasn't until I said out loud that we haad been asking for a long time for somebody to help us place the complaint for ROBBERY that finally a person said he would help us. This person was suppposedly in charge for security but he didn't even know where the forms were or how to fill them in!I was told I would get a reply via e-mail which I didn't I had to write to an e-mail address I was given and what I got was an aoutomatic response asking me to fill in the form again!!! Needless to say the reply some days later was that they couldn't be held resnponsible for the robbery... I've been finding online (Trip Advisor) other people had been robbed too in this hotel.

This hotel has a lot to offer. Great vacation spot for the whole family. There are a lot of great people who work very hard here to ensure that everyone has a great vacation.The newer section is bit quieter and laid back. The adult only in the older section seems to be the rowdy spot for the older folks, and they leave drinks, food, cigarettes everywhere. Almost like they left their manners at home with their kids.But there are more than enough pools to find a spot. The hotel was close to capacity and because of all the outdoor space we didn't really have a hard time finding a spot.Check in was painful, but the only thing that didn't go smoothly. Just took forever and got the run around about when our room would be ready. Pushed back a little bit, respectfully, and they did assign us another room. They weren't happy about it, but I wasn't happy about being told 30 more minutes for 2 hours either so...Food is great, does get to be the same stuff day after day so if you were here for 2 weeks I'd eat off the resort a few times. Otherwise it is very good and everyone is accommodating.The people in this part of Mexico are so warm and welcoming. Amazing people. Talk to them and be open to learning something new while in vacation and you will appreciate it that much more.I will definitely come back to this resort again.

Great stay here at the hotel Riu. The hotel staff are incredible and the facilities are great. However the elevators are a little slow and with one elevator being down it made it hard to get up and down. The rooms are decent and clean and every thing is quick to be cleaned and maintained. The gym is nice but lacking in equipment and a few machines are broken too. But overall a good experience, great staff and food is decent. Highly recommend this spot! Nice area with a great beach.

Stayed there years ago, and now that I have traveled more, I still compare every resort to this best experience! Fabulous beach, suite, food, entertainment, and the staff are over the top excellent! The lighting at night is safer than anywhere in Cuba, and the swim up bars and security beats anything in the Dominican Republic. Everything you could want in a resort! That's why I keep going back!

This is my third or fourth time at this resort. In fact we r here now. The grounds pool and beach area are immaculate. The food is good, but not quite enough variety. Elevators are terrible. The new expansion is beautiful. Lots of chairs for everyone. My complaint is they have a sports bar, tons and tons of Canadians come to this resort and they do not have hockey channels or greycup. U have to leave the resort if u want to watch a game. They could easily subscribe and get these channels

This place is too big and they can't handle it. I don't get how it's a 5 star hotel, there are leaks everywhere.One woman slipped and fell in the dining area because of it. The food is bad and drinks worse. They use the cheapest alcohol.They run out of stuff, including 4 beer taps in the buffet dining area. There are adults only areas that are not enforced. The sports bar needs something to absorb sound... Between the kids screaming and games in there the sound is in tolerable.After the first night we were ready to leave....and the last straw was no housekeeping in the first day. No restocking of the refrigerator and the gin and rum were gone in the room.You will pay 5 star prices here but this place is no better than a 2 star hotel.

My family and I stayed here for 1 week and a half and we thought it was worth it and it was so nice to be there the resort offered us so many thing such as all you can drink all you can eat and the rooms where so nice but one thing that they messed up was are area we order the area facing the beach and they put us on the sides when we had payed more money to be able to see the beach we thought it was unfair because we payed for everything included and we had ordered with time where we wanted to stay. But any ways we didn’t let that bother us we enjoyed every moment there it was so nice to be able to visit this place and this hotel was so so so nice we loved it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ also I recommend you guys to take a camera because we used are phones and we ended up not going to a place to print them so next time I would recommend take a camera it will force you guys to go get them printed.

Our last week trip proved us opposite of all the five stars for this hotel. It was literally a waste of money. Luckily we were in a big group otherwise for a couple or few ppl it was boring as hell. They had no whatsoever entertainments or activities. It was one of the worst experiences we have had among our many trips to Mexico. Lack of clean bathroom , not fully functional elevators, you name it. A part of the hotel was literally occupied with the noise of construction, and to talk about food , they repeatedly were serving same low quality and tasteless food. I wish I could rate it even lower. 🙁🙁

Had an awesome stay at the Riu Emerald Bay resort just out side of Mazatlan. I have been to resorts in Cuba and Dominican and the Riu Emerald hands down had the best food and nicest rooms, they were cleaned everyday and were quick to bring top offs for the mini fridge. The staff was super friendly, my Spanish is terrible but I had no troubles anywhere during my trip all the staff could help me in English. Highly recommend a stay here.

Hotel infrastructure is outstanding!!!Nice (but not great)rooms,food is abundant and of acceptable quality, but not great... cocktails are made with a premixed type of juices which come with a not very pleasant chemical aftertaste... swimming pools are nice but were overcrowded all the time that we were there...no "adults only* pools...If you are expecting a quiet and relaxing vacation, this is NOT the place to go!! This hotel hosts over 4000 people!! consequently, the pools, bars , restaurants are extremely busy. The ocean tide is very strong.(flag is permanently red) I checked with the hotel staff and was told that in the past few years they have never seen the green flag for oceanswiming... so, you can get into the water, at your own risk...and last- but far from least- the waiting time for elevators is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Be prepared to wait 15+ minutes during peak times....Definitely not worth it!! You will be paying for a frustrating and disappointing experience!!

It’s ok. Yes, elevators are an issue. The food was definitely not good at all, I was so disappointed in this. The restaurants in general are chaotic and sloppy. The kids club and water slide area is nice though. Our room was in the new section, and it was quite nice as well. If I was travelling with just my spouse on an adult trip, I would have been very disappointed but because of the kids amenities, it was acceptable. Not close to a 5 star at all, but if you can get a great price and don’t mind a 3 star, then it’s ok.

My family had been in many "All Inclusive" resorts in Mexico on both Pacific and Caribbean coasts. This one goes all out to serve you both food and drinks. I had never seen so many drink stations available in close proximity to all 5 pools and the always available sunning chairs. Services at all restaurants are superb. Staffs are all friendly, even sometimes you wish they know a bit more English. With "Google Translate" app, that small problem can easily be taken care of. Great resort!

The staff was very nice but incompetent. We wanted to do karaoke but didn’t know that you had to sign up. When we did sign up they told us to be there at 9 the next day so we were but they stated at 8. They don’t know how to serve you at all.The food is the same thing everyday with no variety and not that great. The two restaurants that you have to book are disgusting and a waste of time. The rooms have bed bugs and I didn’t see them change the sheets once. The bartenders don’t even know their own drinks in the Riu book. There are only 2 English channels and the wifi was a struggle. We didn’t have hot water for a day and the power went out twice over 7 days. It is extremely overpriced for what you get and I would not recommend that anyone go here.

ELEVATORS...SMELL.&....CURRENCY, Everyone we spoke with throughout the week all expressed the same concerns regarding the horrendous waits you have to take every time you need to take an elevator. By far, the elevators are the biggest let down and concern at this resort. One couple told us how the elevator suddenly dropped with them in it 4 feet. As you step into the elevator, even as the first person on, it bounces. Very unsettling and at times a scary experience.The hotel venting is setup poorly that when you walk in the restaurant area, especially by the Mexican restaurant, it reeks of toilet smell; again, something everyone else we spoke with felt was a major disappointment at this hotel. My wife was constantly making me walk around that area instead of through it because she couldn’t stand the smell.Throughout the week it was a daily game trying to get lower currency bills/change. It felt like a manipulation to make you tip higher or spend more by not giving anyone currency of a lower amount. Every day I went to the front desk in the morning, as they told me to, asking for 10 or 20 peso currency and they kept telling me to come back another time. I hate the feeling that your just being manipulated into spending more money.On the good side we loved our bedroom and the view was fantastic. Overall the food was very good and the drinks were great; except for the constant harassment from swarms of bees as you tried to enjoy your drink. I don’t know why they don’t get high powered fans to blow the bees away from the area or something. The service was good but sadly the front desk people are not very good when it comes to basic English. The beach area was very good and so was the entertainment. You always saw the workers mopping the floors throughout the week. We found that majority of the servers were very quick, friendly and eager to make your meal a good experience. The pools were very nice and loved the variety of options for swimming.

We spent 7 days at Riu a little over a week ago and had the absolute best time. The staff were exceptional, especially Chef Manuel who did an impeccable job looking after my wife who is Celiac as well as myself and the other couple we came with. The adult pool and pool bar is a blast during the day, beach was enjoyable and organized beach volleyball was fun. Evening activities like Karaoke were also thoroughly enjoyed. We hardly noticed the ongoing construction of resort addition because we were having so much fun. Planning to come back in the fall when the new building is complete!

The hotel and its surroundings are beautiful.The employees that work there are all very pleasant and helpful.They are doing some substantial work but you would hardly notice as it was always clean.My only complaint was that I had to go back down after my own luggage even though it was tagged to be delivered.Checking in and out was a breez

The Riu Emerald Bay in Mazatlan is the most beautiful all-inclusive resort I've ever stayed at. The staff are extremely helpful and happy, the resort is immaculately clean, the food is delicious as well as the wide variety of drinks. Beautiful massage hut is a 5 minute walk from the resort. We paid $30 CDN for a 1 hour massage.... and it is absolutely worth it !!! We felt very safe in this resort and will definately be back !

Seems large until you get in. Very busy.Do not take an early flight..you sit and wait for your room til 4pm. Line ups everywhere, so expect to wait for everything.They suggest you go enjoy the beach or pool..but you have to leave your luggage unattended. 1st day..so hoping it gets better. View is beautiful

Very nice environment ideal for a family trip and the view from the higher levels is amazing.It's difficult to use the elevators when the hotel is crowded, you could wait up to 20 minutes just to go down, I would suggest the lower levels so you can take the stairs if you are traveling with children.

Big modern all inclusive resort. Hot and sunny everyday ( 1st week April). Clean and well maintained. Every room has ocean view. Nice modern room with balcony, fridge, safe. We never waited more than a few min. for elevators. Very nice huge beach with lots of shady spots, able to take long walks. Constant waves from ocean.Rope barrier to keep vendors out- great idea! Food is decent. All kinds of liquor available. Good entertainment with dj portion after. They had a 'beach party' one night with tables on beach, food, music-- well done. From Toronto-6 hr. flight( all in)+ 1 hr. bus.

Was here in February for a wedding. Construction next door and inside was not great- especially during the vows (seriously). Honestly this place was too fancy for our low brow and rowdy group of college friends. We had spectacular poolside service the first couple of days but then didn't get any service for the rest of the week. A few really awesome and fun staff- especially at the bar by the beach/pool. Loved that they had extended hours for the bars and food options. The "discotheque" was small but fun. Restaurants are pretty good. Some restaurants were challenging to find (I feel like an idiot saying that) maybe because of inconsistent labeling, construction, or the alcohol. Imo the layout was kind of too spread out and confusing. For how much of the property is "pool" there really wasn't a lot of space to be in the water. OMG the elevators- so awful! It would take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, IF it stopped on your floor. The location of the resort is pretty far north, away from many of the attractions in town. I mean, don't get me wrong, this place is beautiful! But given the choice, this is not the place I would stay in Mazatlan.

BEDBUGS!!!after having a very hard personal year we decided to go on vacation here to relax and unwind. got our room on the 18th floor and found bedbugs the first night. told the night management and they tried to blame it on me saying that it could have come from the airplane or bus that i came in... the bus i came in was arranged by them. They offered to move me to either adjoining rooms, which was not acceptable considering bed bugs burrow into the walls. The management was terrible here. if i could give them zero stars i would. The management was reluctant to clean our clothes or give us any compensation. i would never stay in a RIU hotel again! Very disappointingEdited: you can tell by the response of how they deal with issues here, I've updated with pictures of the bedbugs. I will NOT be staying at another RIU again.

Great location in Mazatlan, good service, property is starting to show its age. Beaches are clean, water is warm and the location is away from the other hotels so it is a little more private. A short walk away is a public beach which adds some nice local flavor to the experience. It is an all-exclusive so that means lines for food and all-buffet. A restaurant for a sit down meal that you order would be nice. We had a large extended family group so the all-inclusive had its advantages. One of the nicer properties in Mazatlan and the water is still warm in December/January so a great escape from the cold and snow.Small annoyance is that they offer shampoo in the showers, but no conditioner.The property is a solid 3.5 - 3.75 star location. Not quite a 4 star.

Stayed here recently and had a fantastic time.. hotel is quite large but easily accessible fairly quickly.. beach is great ... long and sandy.. water is always a little rough so not the best for swimming for little ones..Food at the hotel was great, typical of Riu resorts but the specialty restaurants were all buffet style as well which isn't quite the same experience we're used to..Pool was fantastic, drinks plentiful, service abs staff all great..Buy an umbrella from a vendor on the beach for $30 and they'll buy it back from you at the end of your week for $10.. much cheaper than renting it and you'll always have shade..Get chairs reserved early but use hotel towels not pool towels as we heard of a few being stolen..Only real complaint was that there are only 3 small elevators for such a large resort so if you're on a high floor you might wait long for it..

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Riu in Mazatlan.The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean.The beach was great and the staff had daily activities for adults and children.The buffet was filled with many international choices so anyone can find something they like.We went on 2 excursions and they were exactly what they advertised and we had a great time.The rooms are basic but they all have ocean views and the sunsets are great.We felt very safe and well looked after.

Honestly, RIU hotels never disappoint. We had a great time here in January 2019 and it was out first time to this part of Mexico. The food was so good and lots of variety and overall I felt like it was more authentic then the food we got in Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. The beach was clean and lots of waves for playing but not too crazy that it was dangerous. The only downside of the beach is there are sooo many locals trying to sell you something so it gets kind of annoying. I did buy a few things and then when they see you buy something, a whole bunch flock to you lol The hotel staff were always wonderful and even helped me when I accidentally left my phone at the front desk. Some of the nightly entertainment was boring, but the beach party they had one night was amazing and the disco was good so thay kept us entertained. Overall I would recommend it if you are looking for a something a little different than the Cancun vibe.

First time at Riu.Room was an upgraded suite which had a massive deck and extra space in the room. The bed had a firm but comfortable mattress.Room was well cleaned everyday.Pools gave good variety some heated more than others.Kids pool was closed due to construction but there was one pool still that was adult only.Food was consistent and very fresh for mostly a buffet at all the restaurants.There are four options.Two require reservations (Asian and Mexican). Mexican is closest to a la carte where you order the main course from the menu but the rest you get from the buffet.No such thing as too shelf or premium booze here. Every lunch they seem to do a BBQ or something fun for food. There is a beach party one night as well with food and entertainment on the beach which was fun.Always activities going on though not always clearly advertised what and when. Overall a very good choice for mazatlan. Should note that you are about 20 mins out of town but there are lots of options of going in bus taxi open air taxi etc.

Wouldn't go there again. Food was OK, stuff at the front desk and one lady from the kids Animation team were very nice everywhere else they couldn't care less. Housekeeping could use some serious training. Pools felt crowded. Selling people at the beach were very enoying around sunset time the different groups of musicians were only loud and didnt work well together. Kidspool, don't even need to talk about it, didn't enjoy it all. Kids evening Programm was a joke.

An error in our booking caused some confusion which got resolved to our satisfaction. The rooms were spacious and clean, comfortable and secure. The beds were comfortable, but I found the pillows too soft. We were able to manage. It was quiet & peaceful, having the kids right next door.Staff was friendly and helpful.

DO NOT STAY HERE. every single review two stars and lower are accurate. If you do not learn from these reviews - it’s your own fault. I didn’t learn.......The photos on the website must have been taken prior to opening day because nothing at this facility looks like any of the photos.The elevators are a joke - seriously testing your patients on a daily basis. Without exaggeration - we waited on them on a average of 20 minutes every single time.No English is spoken anywhere at this facility.We were the only English speaking people. If you do not speak Spanish - you will not be able to communicate at all.Constant construction - everywhere all thetime.The rooms are horrible. Their definition of two queen beds are actually two twin beds literally pushed together. Seriously.They do not have a walkway to get their supplies around the resort so they are constantly wheeling everything by you at the pool.The pools are so crowded, you can hardly move.I could spend another hour on this - but do not have time.We will not be back - Ever.

Elevators are brutal. Also we had little ones with us and the roland slide area was not working for 2 days that we stayed. And our 2yrs old little girl really wanted to go on the slides. And it did not help it was closed on the hottest day too. Everything else was good though. Our room was always clean and an excellent job was done

Buen hotel mientras no pase del 50%de ocupación, si pasa del 50% es un caos, filas para todo. Insuficientes los elevadores, muy mal eso de plano tuve que bajar maletas por las escaleras del 10 piso porque pase 40min esperando elevador.

Pensaba reservar con mi familia para el 2021 peroooo tienen muy malos comentarios de huéspedes hacia el hotel y sus empleados y hasta agresiones.. no gracias ! Mejor buscaré otra opción y que pena de verdad ni de broma me paro en ese hotel .

Buen lugar para pasar unas vacaciones, planea con tiempo, debido a que es un complejo grande en temporada alta está demasiado lleno y debes hacer fila y tiempo en los elevadores que no son suficientes.comida Muy buena pero igual los mejores lugares debes hacer reservación con anticipación.

Siempre exelente los meseros y la comida solo en esta ocacion la recamarera q nos toco no asia bien el aceo y nos dieron un cuarto con una vista horrible a un lote baldio despues nos cambiaron por peticion de nosotros. El mejor hotel al que he acudido, vista al mar, unas maravillosas y limpias albercas, tu cuarto lo limpian cada día y el balcón es una gran opción para una vista de noche, comida y bebida ilimitados, no te molestas en nada, las mejores vacaciones en este hotel. (Pero tuvimos problemas con el agua para bañarse)
