“The front desk staff at this hotel leaves a LOT to be desired. I’ve been fortunate to stay at Marriott branded hotels around the world. That said, this was the WORST hotel check in experience I’ve ever had! I was with two seniors over 70 years of age and it took 4 employees and 25 minutes to get us checked into two rooms. I called the day prior to request rooms be near one another. We ended up on floors 2 & 9…not exactly near one another, as promised on the phone. They had one of the room types wrong, they thought I had a ‘double king’ instead of double queen room…never heard of double king at Marriott hotels. They had my credit card info wrong as well, even though I showed them everything on Bonvoy app. They asked me my last name 3 times until finally I placed my ID on counter and asked them to refer to it for my name going forward. They didn’t know what time their own restaurant opened for breakfast. The response was a one of a kind- “it’s pretty much whatever time you get there”. I did seek out GM of hotel in person and she sent a complimentary $13 bottle of sparkling wine and cheese plate to rooms. However, this didn’t compensate for ruining our day at the front desk. I’d rather you not give me a bottle of cheap wine and instead check me in without grief. I will not return to this hotel. If I’m Birmingham, I recommend you choose elsewhere for a hotel.”
