“The hotel is situated in a very convenient location at the very heart of Auckland with bus stations, bars, restaurants and a couple of supermarkets near by. BUT we stayed in the smallest room I've ever seen in my life! There was barely enough space to open 1 suitcase. And the walls were very thin so we could hear the traffic outside and our neighbours as well. It was noisy most of the night and the light on the air conditioner was quite bright too so if you do decide to stay at the Ibis Budget I recommend you taking eye-mask and ear plugs with you. Otherwise, you aren't going to get a good sleep.
On the bright side, the bed was nice, soft and comfortable and we had our own bathroom ( a very tiny one like the ones you see on planes ✈️)”

“When you look at the photos of this hotel, you think: "Ok, that looks nice."
The shock comes when you enter the room. Even the term 'room' is a real exaggeration. 'Storage room' is more appropriate.
A tiny double bed almost stands in the way of even entering the room. Our two travel bags? We somehow squeeze them in unopened. Opening does not work, we would have to leave the room. Of course there is no chair and no table! They wouldn't have fit in. We close the access door and now find a second door. The toilet and shower are hidden behind it. The shower and toilet share this miserable dark hole, separated only by a shower curtain better known as a 'rag'.
The worst thing though is the smell. Sorry, stench is more appropriate. Window for ventilation. Well, if you call an opening of approx. 30 x 70 cm closed with glass a window... .
Oh, I forgot: there is another balcony that is actually one square meter in size. We could put our travel bags there. Oh, that doesn't work, the door is so narrow that the travel bags don't fit through.
We turned around, checked out and looked for something else.
Ibis Budget, Auckland: an absolute no-go!”
