“We stayed for two nights in a 1 bedroom suite mid-week and paid nearly $500 after parking and taxes/fees. When we arrived at 3:40, no rooms were ready so I patiently waited until the listed 4pm check in time. At 4:00pm it still took the receptionist 15 minutes and the help of a manger to find a clean room. I watched as they scanned through room after room saying “that one’s still dirty.” We finally received a room on the fifth floor and we’re instantly met by the smell of pet urine in the hallway carpets which are visibly soiled. Inside our room, the coffee mugs were dirty, crumbs and sticky residue from food coated the floor and the counter tops were covered in crumbs. The linens were clean and the layout of the room was nice, just really disappointing to see a lack of cleanliness in the room when you are required to check in at 4pm and check out at 11am, leaving ample time for housekeeping. Additionally, I expect more from Hilton at this price point and in the midst of a global pandemic. The lady serving breakfast was attentive and helpful and we found the food enjoyable both at breakfast and evening social. I won’t return to this property.”

Just experienced the worst treatment ever at a Hilton location in Galveston. Checked in at Homewood Suites Galveston right before 4 pm. After getting to our room, used the restroom and looked out the window. Realized that it didn’t have an ocean view as expected. Called front desk and was told there is no record of your request but we can move you for a $30/change room fee. Agreed because it’s not on my reservations but I know what I asked for. Proceeded to go down to get the new keys while my mate packed up. I went back up to the room to help pack and get moved to the new room. Well, there’s a knock at the door. My perception was management/housekeeping is making sure we don’t try anything slick I guess. (We’re black) As we’re leaving, Housekeeper is on the phone speaking Spanish to someone. After I got to the new room, the phone rings. Front desk tells me because we used the bathroom, now we’re also responsible for a cleaning fee. After trying to explain our case, we were absolutely humiliated and treated like second class citizens. Oh and because we wouldn’t be quiet as told, we were asked to leave and the police called because it seemed “threatening.” Now mind you if we had been threatening, why would you allow us to go back to the room and remove our items without an escort. Worst customer service ever!!!!”
