Didn't start off on the right foot. Both elevators had issues. One was out of service. The other was messing up. Maintenance got one fixed. Was told I had a luxury room. Yes air conditioning worked great. Balcony was over the pool. No cookie offered at check in. Staff was friendly and professional. Was expecting a lot more for the price they charged. Over all good stay. Nice breakfast bar served for guests. Pool was large. Plus had a swim up bar. Rooms were cleaned and bathroom walk in shower was nice.

Three stars is a stretch. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The place was packed and the main elevator was broken so unless you like waiting a long time for a small elevator you have to use the stairs. The front automatic sliding door had seen better days and was really noisy. The pool area looked nice but never went down there. Would have given a higher rating but it appears they just don't maintain the place.

The outside, bar/swimming pool area was the best part. The rooms, not so much. Upon opening our hotel room door, it smelled very clean like it had just been bleached. The rooms are very small and there's not a lot of room for luggage. The next day after going to the beach and coming back, the room smelled very musty/moldy. I asked one of the cleaning ladies out in the hall if she had some Lysol and she said that was the only thing she didn't have which was concerning to me as to "how" clean those rooms actually get cleaned. The air conditioning never did catch up until the middle of the night. The TV in our room had big dots on the screen that wouldn't go away. Also, there are 2 elevators to the hotel, but only one works and the other one has been out of commission for 2 years. So it takes a LONG time to get from your room to the bottom. I think we probably could've found something better had we taken the time in our search, but we've never had any problems before with Double Tree.

The location was so good. The sea was close and the distance from the restaurants we were going to was very close. Except for the first floor of the hotel, there was no air conditioner in the hallway of the room and it was very hot. The view of the room was so pretty with the sea view and it was even better because there was a terrace. The air conditioner temperature in the room was 65°F at first, and it felt very humid when it was raised even a little. One of the two beds had a lot of lipstick on it. My hair had come out of bacon while I was eating breakfast. The staff was friendly. I brought the towel if I needed it and asked for more. When it got a little dark, it was very pretty because they gave me a fireplace, and the cocktail of pool bar in the pool was delicious.

Pictures made the rooms look really nice. I would say the rooms are average. The bathrooms were pleasantly large though. One of the elevators in the lobby was out and the other one had no AC in it, which made it miserable on a 100+ degree day (although a short ride, still no fun). I was also charged 15 dollars for parking even though I told the receptionist at the front I did not have my vehicle when I checked in. Still waiting on my refund for that.
