“The location of this hotel is superb- you are in the middle of everything.Marriott drives me a little nuts, though, because they frequently don't match the experience to the brand.You think staying at a JW Marriott that you'll be enjoying a higher level experience and service.I have had better experiences at regular Marriotts.This place looks nice and was spotless, but beyond that, the service doesn't match the promise.Nobody opens doors or greets you as you enter.The front desk was friendly but not overly friendly.We got up to our room and my wife opened the nightstand drawer and someone had left behind some of their (ahem) "personal items."I chatted with the front desk and they sent someone up to retrieve the items, but no apology.We asked for additional coffee packets to be brought to the room and I was told they would be brought up- by the next morning, they hadn't been brought up- I had to chase them down.These things matter in terms of overall experience.If you are looking for a higher end experience in DC, this isn't it.There is a feeling of phoning it in.On a positive note, our room included breakfast which was always fantastic and Ellena (I think that's her name) served us every morning and she was AWESOME.”
